Using DirectorsCut
These terms describe your use of the DirectorsCut service. Keep your sign-in details secure, use an email address you control and provide accurate account information. Do not use the service unlawfully, disrupt it, bypass account limits or access someone else's content without permission.
DirectorsCut helps import recordings, suggest moments, edit and caption clips, create finished videos and, where available, publish to a channel you connect. Features can depend on platform availability and account limits. AI results may contain mistakes and we do not promise a particular number of clips, audience response or viewing figures.
Your content and choices
You keep your rights in your recordings and other material. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload or import, process, edit, download and publish that material, including copyright and privacy permissions. You allow DirectorsCut and its providers to process the material to supply the features you request.
Review your final clip, captions, framing and publishing details before sharing it. Connecting a social account is not permission for automatic posting. Publishing requires you to choose a finished clip, review the destination and details, and confirm. An uploaded source is not automatically posted.
Plans, minutes and storage
Free includes 20 source-processing minutes once and 1 GB of workspace storage. It is not a monthly allowance. Starter is USD $12 per month with 100 processing minutes and 5 GB; Creator is USD $29 per month with 300 minutes and 10 GB; Pro is USD $59 per month with 750 minutes and 15 GB. Review the currency, total and any applicable taxes shown at checkout before confirming a subscription.
Source duration is rounded up to whole minutes and counts once when AI processing begins. Minutes can be used even if processing fails or finds no suggested clips. A supported retry or Find more clips search reuses the saved source and original charge. Edits, re-renders and downloads do not consume additional source minutes. Queue, repeat-request, file-size, storage and retention limits still apply.
Free export requests include a directorscut.io watermark. Eligible paid export requests do not. Changing plan does not rewrite existing export files. Create a new export under your eligible plan to change its branding.
Paid allowances apply to the billing period shown in your account and do not roll over. Used minutes do not reset when upgrading within a period. Complimentary access is separate from a paid subscription; any gift's allowance and expiry are shown in your account.
Upgrades, cancellation and billing help
Paid subscriptions renew monthly unless cancelled. Manage your plan in Account & billing. Upgrades take effect after payment is confirmed. Scheduled downgrades and ordinary cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid billing period, on the date shown before confirmation.
After an end-of-period cancellation is scheduled, you can continue using your remaining paid-period minutes until that date. Used minutes do not reset, and project expiry and other limits still apply. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account or automatically extend project storage.
For a payment problem or refund request, contact support@directorscut.io. Ordinary subscription cancellation is separate from any mandatory cancellation right or remedy you may have under applicable consumer law. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Account deletion does not itself cancel a Stripe subscription or erase Stripe's records.
Keeping and deleting your work
New Free projects are kept for 48 hours and new paid-plan projects for 30 days. Existing projects keep their saved expiry, including after a plan change. The workspace storage cap covers saved source recordings, exports and other stored assets. If your usage exceeds the available cap, creating or storing more files can be blocked until you free space or change plan.
Keep your originals and download finished clips before the expiry shown in the project. DirectorsCut is an editing workspace, not a permanent archive. Deleting or expiring a project ends application access and schedules its files for background removal. Account closure ends account access and follows the deletion process described in the Privacy notice.
Connected platforms
By using DirectorsCut's YouTube API features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube may restrict a new integration's uploads to private visibility until it approves public uploads. Platform quotas, permissions and processing rules can delay or prevent publication.
Instagram publishing requires an eligible professional account and is subject to Instagram's terms. Only grant access to accounts you are authorized to manage. You can disconnect a channel at any time.
Removing a DirectorsCut connection, clip, project or account does not remove content already published to YouTube or Instagram. Use that platform to manage or delete the post. If a publishing request is uncertain, check its status and the channel before submitting another copy.
Problems and changes
For a service, billing or account problem, contact support@directorscut.io with the account email and a description of what happened. Do not send passwords or payment-card numbers. We may need to verify your account before changing it or providing account information.
The service and these terms may change as DirectorsCut develops. We will explain material changes affecting your use or paid subscription. The effective date above identifies this version. These terms do not add a mandatory arbitration requirement or remove legal rights that apply to you.
